The man was GSW in Vietnam in 1968, he was Army medical retired early 1970.

He is now 100% IHD, rating for GSW and secondary, also PTSD.

He was retired as an E-4.

He is 67 years old.

A guess what his CRSC amount might be from anyone????????????

Thanks Jim

Currently receiving $453.00 monthly CRSC. My CRSC  effective date is Sept 2010. Will my retro be $453,00 X 24 months? or am I subject to some weird VA calculation?   Thanks. I am a 20 year regular Army retiree.

Yet Another CRSC Question?

I have found tons of information on CRSC, but haven't found one that answers my question. What I want to know is how it is calculated when there is a difference between the my DOD ratings and VA ratings? I was rated 30% by DOD for two conditions, both of which were deemed caused by combat. My VA rating includes 6 conditions, two that mirror my DOD and four that are additional. All of these conditions are not combat related.

My question is for CRSC would I only file for my conditions that were rated by both the VA and DOD. or would I file all VA rated conditions? Also, how do they figure out how much they pay? My case looks like this:

70% VA rating = $1459 per month
The Breakdown is
20% DDD-Combat Rated on 199
10% Sciatica-Combat Rated on 199
30% Adjustment Disorder- I can make a case for this being Combat Rated
20% Cervical Strain-I can make a case for this being Combat Rated
10% Left Ankle Strain- Injured doing PT in...

I had posted in this forum a month ago. My husband is a Chapter 61 retiree with almost 10 years AD (E5) (more info in my original post) My Husband received his CRSC decision letter today: 80% combat related rating (out of the 90 % awarded by the VA) for a $653 monthly payment. Application processed within a 30 day turnaround- very fast and efficient. DFAS/ mypay already showing the NOV payment in the system. Again, my husbands case was very well documented, so he had no problems connecting his disabilities to an act of war. Just thought I update all, since there are always so many people asking how much $ they can expect with a certain percentage (and I was finally explained the formula for Chapter 61 cases). Anyway, we are pleased with the results and are looking forward to finally having our "final" regular monthly income to budget with. Thanks all, Ursula

Looked on mypay and first crsc payment will be deposited Nov. 1.  Effective crsc date is April 2011.  I have a question.  I know retro pay is very confusing but hopefully someone out there will have an answer.  My first offset of retired pay was Sept. of 2012, received my first VA payment Oct. 1, 2012, (VA comp was dated back to April 2011) will receive my first CRSC payment Nov. 1, 2012.  Will I receive retro from the CRSC back to April of 2011 or will it just be back to Sept. of 2012 when the first offset was done?  I would sure appreciate any thoughts on this question.

100% and IU Moot

I was rated total and permanent w/IU in March 2000 for left knee 20%, right knee 30% and right foot 20%. Subsequently I was awarded right lower extremity radiculoppathy 20%, left lower extremity radiculoppathy 20%, coronary artery disease 10%, prostate cancer 40%, right shoulder 30%, and thorocolumbar spine 40% for an additional schedular 80%. The VA rated me 100% schedular and dropped the IU. The VA tells me that the IU is moot in my case but can't tell me what law or regulation requires removal of the IU DESIGNATOR because of 100% schedular. I am also receiving SMC (k) for loss of use of an organ.  It appears that I may qualify for SMC(s) housebound but I am not sure. I am not truly housebound. I could use some advice on this.  Also, I would like to know if it is possible to reistate the IU designator because of the negative impact on my CRSC pay. Any advice you can render would be apprecated.

I need some better information than I can find online.  I was medically retired after 16 years of service, with a 40% rating from the Army PEB in October 2010.  The VA rated me at 90% as of October2010 and in June 2012 increased the rating to 100%.

What do I qualify for besides the VA payments?

Any information wil help.

CRSC and IU

I am currently rated at 80% with 60% IHD and 3 20%"s for other related issues.  Am receiving CRSC for the 80%.  IU was deferred on my recent increase of IHD.  Applied for IU and Sleep Apnea and currently in Prep for Notification, without a C&P exam for either claim.  If approved for IU, can one then apply for the full 100% CRSC to?   Is it the same for IU and Schedular as far as CRSC pay? Thanks for any and all answers.

Will they reconsider my CRSC claim for PTSD???

I just got my new rating back from the VA I was previously rated 90%, now I'm 100% Individual Unplayability (70% for PTSD) I was previously 50% PTSD. I also have a few more conditions, but none are considered combat related, according to "Army" on my first claim. I'm retired (20 years active duty).
Question: I was previously denied CRSC a couple years ago, I just resubmitted my claim a few days ago, any chances they will reconsider my claim for the PTSD?

crsc retro

Only recently found out about crsc.  I have seen several mentions of retro pay but none being specific to how long they go back.  DFAS states  a maximum of 6 years from time of VA approval. (I Think?)  If they use the 6 year limit, will it be the earliest 6 years, (2002 to 2008) The 6 years from 1 Jan. 2004, or the most recent 6 years? (2006 to 2012)

Retired USArmy, 20 years 9+ months.
VA rated 40% AO  May 2002 (RVN 1962-1963)
20% DMII
20% Prostate Cancer

VA pay waived from My retirement pay for all 10 years.

Have applied to USArmy  for my crsc approval as of 1 Oct 2012. (Still waiting for my letter.)  If I am approved, which of these time periods would apply to me?

Thank you for your assistance.

I love this VBN site.

I can only get crsc if I'm medically retired right?? Secondly, what's the likelihood of getting this based on 100% PTSD?? Also, the pay one receives for crsc, it is the same as what the va pays for your percentage right? I was in the marines, deployed to Iraq in 2003, va diagnosis of PTSD 2010/2011 with 100% disability comp started last month. Also how would this senerio playout with the nemhier case? Not lookin for cold hard facts, but just an opinion. Thanks all!

Back pay #30 [url] [-] Posts: 63 11/04/12 02:45:32 Mr. Parker I read all of your post. Thanks so much you have help me alot. I am medically retired 80% DOD recieving pay. I was granted SC at 90% last week from the VA. Today I received back pay from the VA. I assume I should not deposit this check because I am receiving DOD. No, I'm notg 20 year retiree i have 19 years 10 mos. Also my DOD is more than VA by approx. $200.00. Lastly, VA did not make any of my medical issues "combat related" but I am going to file anyway with the documents i have and hope for the best. any thoughts on whether I should deposit check? Thanks so much

Should I apply for CRSC?

Last weekend I visited the traveling Viet Nam Memorial Wall.  While there, I visited a DAV mobile van, just to say hi and to thank them for their support to veterans.  After discussing my situation the service officer asked if I had considered applying for CRSC.   Before I could ask what CRSC is, we were interrupted and I left.

Since, I have read about it on the internet but I still don't understand it.

My situation is this:  I was an O2 (1LT) and was wounded in action (Gun shot to sciatic nerve) in Viet Nam in 1970.  I have a Purple Heart.  I have nerve damage and after three years on the temporary retirement list, I was permanently retired at 40% by the Army.  I have a retired officer ID card.  The VA disability was set at 60%.   I remember initially receiving a check from the VA and a very small check from the military ($30 or so).  Then I got only the check from the VA. I...

Who really pays Retro

I'm a 20-yr regular Army retiree. I receive my regular retirement pay, VA disability and CRSC. The VA told me that I would not be getting retro pay from the VA. CRSC is a program you apply for through your parent service through DFAS. Isn't DFAS the one that pays retro pay? Or is it a joint effort between DFAS and the VA? Any comments are appreciated. No matter who pays retro I realize I have a long wait for that to happen. Thanks in advance.

Effective date of CRSC retro

Is CRSC retro pay effective the date of the VA award letter, 2003, 2008 or the dates set by the CRSC approval letter. I'm a 20-yr regular Army retiree. Just curious, thanks
